PLEIN AIR WITH A PRO!
Now in its 3rd year.

Learn the essentials of outdoor painting with four of Florida's premier professional painters who have years of plein air painting and teaching experience. The  instructors will meet you where you are in your painting journey with individualized instruction at your easels.  Classes are limited to 10-12 for maximum interaction with the instructor.

How it Works

There are four workshops: Katie Dobson Cundiff in January, Joseph Melancon in February, Joseph Palmerio in February and Heather Arenas in Feb/Mar.  Each workshop is $125.00 and is comprised of two plein air sessions.  You can sign up for one, two or all four of the workshops.  Each Workshop meets once a week for two consecutive weeks at a different  location in the Sarasota/Venice/North Port area of Southwest Florida.  Each location will have free parking, restrooms and shelter.  The locations will be provided to you before the workshop begins.  There will be a brief demo at 9:00 a.m., followed by painting during which time you will receive individual instruction at your easel. Sessions will end with a group critique where you will see each painting evaluated with the aim of pointing out principles of good painting techniques.  Prior plein air painting experience is recommended but not required.  Painters of all media are invited to participate. Demos are in oil or acrylic and you may work in any medium including oil, acrylic, pastel, water-soluble oils, or watercolor.
